2010 School Trip Testimonials from Pupils and Teachers

"All the children look forward to this trip in Year 5 and they are never disappointed!  They have a chance to practise their French first hand and go home with so many new and different experiences to talk about."  Mrs Smith, St. Nicholas School, Old Harlow

"Fantastic trip - brilliant activities.  The pupils were kept busy all week and enjoyed every minute of it."  Mrs Martin, Maltman's Green School, Buckinghamshire

"The service we receive from La Jolie Ronde and ELS is excellent.  It is very reassuring to know that there is someone on the end of the phone who will deal very efficiently with any problems.  I would recommedn La Jolie Ronde and ELS very highly.  Our visits to France are truly memorable.  Many thanks to your staff".  Mrs. Randall, Our Lady of Ransom RC Primary School, Essex

"I have already recommended La Jolie Ronde and ELS trips to other local primaries.  Our children absolutely love their French trip!  Children begin to look forward to their Y6 trip in Y3 as they hear from the older children about how fantastic the trip to France is!"  Mrs. Bagdatlioglu, Whinston Primary School, Teesside

2009 School Trip Testimonials from Pupils and Teachers

'This was our third French residential in Le Portel and again it proved a resounding success with all our pupils and accompanying staff.   Our only complaint was that the week went far too fast but already we are making preparations for our 2010 visit'.  M. Bagdatlioglu, Whinstone Primary School, Stockton-on-Tees

Again another excellent trip – nothing but favourable comments from the children and their parents. The trip certainly enriched an already lively curriculum offered to our children at school. The week ran effortlessly – excellent accommodation and food, challenging and stimulating activities and the children came away from France with lifelong memories which they will treasure.  M. Sharp, St. Joseph’s College, Ipswich

‘My favourite activity was going to the market – although we had to spend our own money – using instructions to ask people how much and can I have ….’

‘I would recommend the trip because there are good things to see and you can buy good things at the market’.

‘I would love to go again.’

Pupils from Berrymede School, London

'ELS took great pains to organise a trip and activities that best suited our pupils, being from a special school.  Both our guide and coach driver empathised in a very sympathetic way with our pupils.  This was my third trip I had arranged at St. Luke's and by far the best!'

Mrs JH, St. Luke's School, Herts.

'An excellent trip!  Educational, fun, helpful and friendly people.  Highly recommended'.

Mrs. Leigh, St. Mary's School, Hampstead

2008 School Trip Testimonials from Pupils and Teachers

"I really enjoyed going on the French trip.  My favourite things were the chocolate factory, the apple farm and the market.  But everything was good.  I really enjoyed the disco and sharing a room with my friends.  I can't wait to go next year".  A Year 4 pupil at Surbiton Prep School.

"The French trip was brilliant.  I really liked the supermarket and the chocolate factory the best!  We also went to the market, the apple farm and the snail farm.  I think the snails tasted really nice!  I am glad we're going again next year".  A Year 4 pupil at Surbiton Prep School.

"Excellent".  Mrs. K.P.  St. Hilary's School, Surrey

"A week that all pupils come back totally enriched by the variety of activities offered to them.  An extremely well balanced programme - exceptionally good value".  Mrs. M.S. St. Joseph's College, Ipswich

"The organisation of the trip was superb.  ELS were very helpful every step of the way.  We had an excellent itinerary which the children throughly enjoyed.  The efficiency of ELS and the excellent courier made our week away a very enjoyable experience.  I would have no hesitation in highly recommending La Jolie Ronde / ELS to other schools!" Mrs. A. R., Our Lady of Ransom School, Essex

"We all had a great time in France.  We did lots of things each day.  We had to be ready for breakfast at 8 a.m. and we had dinner at 7 p.m. In the evening we would have a play in the playground and then we would have a shower and complete our worksheets, then it would be lights out.  On the last evening we were allowed a midnight feast at 9 p.m.  We did about five things each day including "La Cité de la Mer" aquarium, the farm, Pegasus Bridge museum, a boulangerie, the market and the Bayeux tapestry.  In France we went to a school, we all made new friends.  On the second trip there, they danced for us.  On the way back we were sad we were leaving, but happy we were seeing our families again.  The trip was really enjoyable".  A Year 5 pupil at Lyndhurst School, Surrey

"All of our children thoroughly enjoyed themselves maintaining it was 'the best ever holiday' and moaning "Why do we have to go home already?"" Mrs. M. B., Whinstone Primary School, Stockton-on-Tees

"A very well organised, excellent trip.  We will certainly be going back next year.  Thank you."  Mrs. R. H. , Greenfield School, Surrey

Testimonials from previous years

"Everyone is in agreement, we had a fantastic two days with new exciting and different experiences to learn from. We all brought back some wonderful memories, together with keen enthusiasm for another visit." S. Smith, St. Nicholas School, Essex

"We all enjoyed it very much. Thank you! It was very well put together and very well organised – everyone was extremely efficient and helpful." M. Murphy, Walthamstow Hall Junior School, Kent

"From our initial enquiries La Jolie Ronde did everything possible to make our first experience of taking pupils ‘overseas’ a success. Adults and pupils alike, enjoyed the four days spent in France. Activities/places to visit, were appropriate for the age group, kept the children interested. Good balance of learning/fun/memory making. Tour guide flexible but efficient. Friendly staff from La Jolie Ronde / ELS and Mont de Couppes. Success from parent/pupils/staff point of view. Would have no hesitation in recommending to others." M. Garman, Longwood School, Hertfordshire

"I have taken a group of children between 9 and 11 years old to France for the eighth time with La Jolie Ronde and ELS. The trip is a superb experience for the children where they can participate in numerous activities such as sand sailing, kite making and flying, have an opportunity to learn about how bees make honey and make candles from the wax, taste different types of fruit juices and learn about the different fruit trees and how sweets are made. In all these activities they are listening to French people talking and watching them working or working themselves so that the language is visual and practical too. The children also have an opportunity to visit a French school and communicate with French children. It is great fun to share songs and games together using both English and French. Our children also visited the French children in their families; the English children went in pairs to give them more confidence and it was a huge success. On returning from an intensive ‘French’ week, the French language seems so much more relevant and exciting than just practising in the classroom and the children were all extremely motivated to continue communicating with their new-found friends and were very keen to learn more French!" J. Fanthorpe, Arley House PNEU School, Leicestershire

"This is our 4th year travelling with ELS and La Jolie Ronde and it has now become an established part of our school year. The children in Years 5 and 6 look forward to our annual visit to N. France and even though I am now a retired member of staff, I too look forward to being part of an organised, fun loving and educational experience. Roll on 2008!!" J. Rampall, St. Lawrence College Junior School, Ramsgate

"La Jolie Ronde visits are always well organised and thoroughly researched. I know that the pupils will be well entertained and will gain a positive experience of France. They love the hands-on activities and practising their vocabulary in real situations." H. Elkins, Gad’s Hill School, Rochester

"It was the first time I have been to France and I am glad it was because I enjoyed it tremendously! I especially liked meeting the French children. The food was brilliant – I love it. The soup was delicious and I really like the baguettes. To add to that the snails were great. I loved the hypermarket – there were so many sweet it was like a dream. Overall I absolutely loved it." Zara, pupil at Surbiton High School, Junior Girls

"ELS are a friendly and efficient company.  The visits they arrange are both stimulating and interesting for all participants and there is a wide variety of activities.  Visits involve the pupils at many different levels and great care is taken to ensure that they are tailored for the age group taken.  I would not hesitate to recommend their service."  H. Elkins, Gad's Hill School, Kent

"Our trip to Stella Maris was an amazing experience.  Every day was filled with interesting activities and useful information.  By the end of our four days we felt so much more confident in speaking our short sentences in French.  Our knowledge of the way of life in France has been extended.  When we returned everyone knew we had had a wonderful time.  They could see this on our smiling faces.  We really look forward to next year's trip!"  J. Miller and pupils at Oakfield Pre School, Dulwich
